Roxbury is a small town that lies just above the famous Catskill Mountains, and is somewhere that many campers visit in order to explore the surrounding natural landscape to the fullest. With this stunning mountain landscape comes an abundance of outdoor activities, that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Yet, the rolling, green mountains are best loved for skiing in the winter, glowing green trees in the summer, and burning orange fall colors. Head to the nearby Plattekill Mountain to challenge yourself on the slopes in winter, and roam the surrounding Plattekill State Forest. Halcott Mountain boasts some of the bets mountain views, where you can follow numerous hiking trails to its peak.
