Dolphins, sea lions, and elephant seals are also natives to the area and can be spotted year-round on wildlife safaris or photo safaris. Moving further inland, the Valdes Peninsula and the Chubut River are where over 180 species of birds call home, as well as other local animals such as rheas, guanacos, dwarf armadillos, southern grey foxes, and maras.

For the slightly more adventurous, Punta Pardelas beach, which guests can reach by trekking along the cliffs, is located just over seven miles away. Here guests can go fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Mountain biking over sand dunes and beaches can be led by either a half-day or full-day tour, or even several days.

Water-lovers can find water sports such as kayaking, sandboarding, and stand-up paddleboarding, as well as diving and snorkeling on offer around the property.

Although it is not a big village, Puerto Pirámides offers several local restaurants with delicious, locally-caught fish and locally-raised Patagonian lamb. There are also several convenience stores and a supermarket, gas stations, tourist shops, as well as tour providers all within walking distance.
