History buffs can amble around the streets, admire the historic buildings, or they can visit the Fitzroy Hotel which has remained unchanged since before World War I.

For the nature enthusiasts, the Palms National Park is a palm-filled subtropical rainforest which is home to abundant wildlife such as birds, frogs, bats, and others. There is an impressive boardwalk that snakes through the forest as well as picnic tables and lovely walking paths. For a fun day in the water, glampers can head to Coomba Falls in Maidenwell, kilometers natural swimming hole lined by granite boulders and where a waterfall cascades over volcanic rock.
