With rolling countryside, excellent biking trails, and interesting cultural sites, the Clare Valley region is ideal for visitors looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Described as the heart of Australian Riesling, wine enthusiasts often make the pilgrimage to visit the region's 40 vineyards and wineries including Crabtree's Watervale Wines, Annie's Lane, and Shut the Gate Wines. One of the best ways to explore wine country is by bike on the Riesling Trail, one of the most picturesque cycling tracks in South Australia. The track winds through valleys covered in vineyards, farms, natural bushland, and small historic villages. Guests might also like to spend an afternoon at Clare Golf Club, which welcomes visitors from outside the valley.
The Clare Valley has an emerging gourmet food scene, which means there are plenty of excellent restaurants and bars to tempt the taste buds.
