The cabin has three bedrooms and one full bathroom. In each of the first two bedrooms, guests will find a queen-size bed. The third bedroom is furnished with two twin beds and a pair of trundle beds. In the bathroom, guests will find a toilet, a vanity/sink, and a combination bathtub/shower. Pillows and doonas (the Australian term for a duvet or quilt) are provided, but guests will need to bring their own linens and towels. Alternatively, they can rent linens from the host at an additional charge.
In the open plan living area, guests will find a pair of sofas arranged around a wood-burning stove, a flat-screen television with a DVD player, and two walls full of windows providing treetop views of the surrounding forest, creating a cozy, treehouse-like atmosphere in which to unwind. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with an oven, a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, a toaster, and a kettle, along with baking trays, cake/muffin tins, and basic food items. The adjacent dining area seats seven.
Other amenities include a split system air conditioner and wood heater, a laundry tub, and a washing machine. The cabin also comes with a collection of books, DVDs, toys, games, and puzzles. A portable cot, a high chair, and child-size utensils are available upon request.

The cabin's property is frequented by a variety of wildlife, including kangaroos, koalas, kookaburras, and parrots. With so much natural splendor surrounding them, guests can thus feel immersed in the great outdoors without even leaving the cabin's deck—but if they wish to venture out, they will be well-rewarded for doing so. The national park is laced with a variety of hiking and mountain biking trails, many of which can be accessed right from Kennett River, providing convenient access to the park's 103,185 hectares (254,975 acres) of verdant forests, fern-filled gullies, spectacular waterfalls, peaceful lakes, windswept heathlands, rugged coastlines, and sandy beaches.
Within walking distance of the cabin, guests will also find a cafe/general store, a caravan park with a playground, and a fishing pier on the river after which Kennett River is named. The cabin is about two hours and 20 minutes from Melbourne, where the nearest international airport is located.

Guests can explore the surrounding Otway National Park by foot or by mountain bike on a variety of trails, many of which can be accessed right from Kennett River. Along the way, they can visit some of the spectacular waterfalls for which the park is renowned, such as the iconic Triplet Falls, Erskine Falls, and Phantom Falls. They can also keep an eye out for the park's abundant wildlife, some of which can be spotted right on the cabin's property, such as kangaroos, koalas, kookaburras, and parrots.
With Kennett River Beach just a five-minute walk away and a variety of other pristine beaches to be found in the national park and along the Great Ocean Road, guests will be in an ideal setting to enjoy swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and snorkeling. Rentals and lessons are available from Apollo Bay Surf and Kayak, which also offers opportunities to go on a kayaking journey to Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary, where guests can paddle up to a colony of Australian Fur Seals.
