Kate always looks to blend together her love for nature and fashion with her wanderlust-filled soul.

She usually spends her weekends glamping, hiking, or backpacking around some of the most beautiful destinations and National Parks the U.S. has to offer. Naturally, a weekend away in one of our glamping tipis was a perfect fit!

What are the three words you would use to describe your glamping site?

Remote, Western, and mountainous.

How do you plan your vacations? Around destination? Around style? Around accommodation?

I usually plan my trips either around destination or lodging experience. If I have a specific place in mind, I will start there, but if I just want to get away but am not sure where, I'll do a search by type of accommodation. For example, I'm dying to spend a night in a tree house just to experience an elevated night's sleep under the stars!

How would you describe your glamping style? Chic and stylish or rustic and outdoorsy?

Rustic and outdoorsy, all the way. I'm an avid camper, so when I glamp, I can definitely appreciate the amenities and endless photo-ops most glamping accommodations provide, but I still love to keep some of that natural, rustic charm you get with camping.

What is your biggest piece of advice for planning steps before booking a trip?

Check the weather, and not just overall, but hour by hour. Most of the places I have visited can have a dramatic change in temps, so you'll want to be prepared to be super hot during the day but freezing at night. Make sure to pack a variety of clothes and learn to love the art of layering.

What are your five go-to’s for your glamping stay?

I love capturing my trips on video so I don't go anywhere without my GoPro, Nikon camera, or tripod. We usually hike wherever we glamp, so a hydration backpack is key, and lastly, I would say my partner-in-crime, Doug.

Where are you looking to glamp next and why?

I would love to go glamping in Alaska once the weather warms up a bit, but there is still some snow on the ground. I picture myself waking up on a lake with a moose outside of the tent—how amazing would that be!
