Staff Picks: Rebecca

At Glamping Hub, we get to work with hundreds of beautiful and unique accommodations each and every day. To showcase some of her personal favorites, our Brand Manager, Rebecca, has chosen her top picks—for the moment, at least!

Originally from Ireland, a country with one of the most picturesque landscapes in the world, I was brought up with a love of nature and the outdoors. It is often said that Ireland would be the most beautiful place in the world, if only you could put a roof over it.

The only small issue with our beautiful Emerald Isle is that a warm, dry, and sunny day is extremely unusual—so camping is very rarely an option! Luckily, I discovered glamping. I adore the outdoors and connecting with nature so adding a touch of luxury, a dash of style, and a pinch of comfort to camping really is ideal for me.

At the end of the day, wherever the vacation destination, I always have two goals: firstly, to do something I have not done or seen before, to have an entirely new experience, and secondly, to make it count! For me, vacations are about creating memories that I can look back on, decades from now, with a big smile. With that in mind, my personal glamping picks are all sites where I know these goals and more could become a reality.

Inviting Yurt with Twinkling String Lights in Slane, Ireland

A yurt in County Meath, Ireland, on a green pasture
You’ll have the luck of the Irish if you get the chance to stay at this yurt rental in County Meath!

Of course, I had to choose an accommodation in Ireland to begin with! This gorgeous yurt is on my list of places to visit in 2018. This fantastically-unique rental is beautiful on the inside and on the outside, but it’s the views of the vast, verdant countryside beyond that really capture my attention.

There is so much attention to detail in these yurts, from the luxury bed linens to the handmade toiletries and more. Outside of the yurt, there is even a wood-burning hot tub and a clay oven for making pizzas! It’s such a cool and unique place to glamp—I can’t wait to visit.

Dome Perched on Towering Cliffs Overlooking the Capertee Valley of New South Wales

The view from a bubble glamping dome in New South Wales, Australia.
Now this is what I call dome sweet dome!

My second glamping pick is this glorious dome in New South Wales, Australia. I honestly can’t think of a better way to feel fully immersed in nature, all the while enjoying a serious amount of luxury! The views, the weather, and the incredible design of this dome are why it comes a close second on my list.

The queen-size bed with goose down pillows is just one of the luxurious features you can enjoy here. For me it’s the perfect romantic getaway; this would be sure to knock the socks off that special someone! Just imagine waking up, cozy and warm, amid five-star comfort, while taking in that beautiful Australian sunrise cresting over the ocean horizon.

Beautifully Decorated and Spacious Tent Rental Overlooking Lake Wanaka, New Zealand

Entrance flaps to a unique bell tent accommodation near Queenstown, New Zealand.
Check out those curves!

We’ll take a quick leap away from Australia now and arrive at fabulous number three. This brings us to the pristine, Middle Earth-esque South Island of New Zealand. This bell tent is probably closer to camping than my previous picks, but it’s without a doubt camping at its most glamorous!

This particular rental has incredible views of Lake Wanaka, and has everything you need for a truly comfortable and stylish stay. I love this accommodation because of its uniqueness, and with space for up to four people, it’d be sure to make for a fantastic girls’ getaway!

Storybook Tree House near the Rogue River in Tiller, Oregon

A tree house tower in Oregon against a beautiful blue sky, the color of the sea in summer.
I’d feel on top of the world, staying at this tree house in Oregon.

We’ll come back north through the Pacific Ocean and arrive at my last pick of the day (but, by no means my least favorite!). This unbelievably-cool accommodation is so unique that it makes it difficult to label it as one type of accommodation! Is it a tree house? Is it a tower? I say it’s both!

Since I began working in Glamping Hub, I have had a fascination with tree houses: to be elevated and so close to nature is such a special thing to experience. I hope someday to visit this particular rental in Oregon.

If you are like me and love to get out and about in nature (but aren’t the biggest fan of slumming it with camping!), why not give glamping a try? It’s not hard to fall in love with unique rentals like these.
