This vacation rental is hidden in an evergreen forest outside the city of Nanaimo, found in British Columbia, Canada. With plenty of space and lots of beautiful natural light, this property is perfect for families. There is one bedroom and one full bathroom, with a futon in the living area. Guests should be sure to note the walls of the bedroom do not reach the ceiling, although this does not take away from the privacy of the room.

The living area has beautiful hardwood floors and a vaulted ceiling. One wall is totally made of floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors, which not only provide fantastic lighting but also open up onto the sundeck. Out on the deck, guests can enjoy meals al fresco or unwind with a good book after a day of hiking or on the lake. The kitchen is fully equipped to handle a group's culinary needs, with a dishwasher for easy cleanup. No matter how families or friends choose to spend their time outside while staying here, at the end of the day they have an enchanting property to come home to, with beautiful forest views, comfort, and a great location.

The Mount Washington Alpine Resort in Comox Valley lies just an hour and a half away from the property, where guests can experience the thrill of skiing or snowboarding down one of western Canada's best mountains and in the summer spend their days hiking, biking, and more. On the other hand, if guests are looking for some water fun, they need not worry, because Myles Lake is just a minute down the road. On the lake, guests enjoy access to the owners' private beach.

From this British Columbia, West Coast property, guests have an abundance of choice when deciding how to spend their days outside. First, the Trans Canada Trail, also known as the Great Trail, runs right by the doorstep. This is the longest recreational trail in the world, covering 13 provinces and territories and running 21,500 kilometers, or just about 13,360 miles. Two sections lie closest to the property, the Nanaimo City Trail and the Nanaimo River Trail, on which guests can hike, bike, or horseback ride.

Another great way to spend the day is down at Myles Lake, which is only about a minute walk down the lane from the property. Here, guests can bring a picnic to spend the day and pass the time fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. While so there is so much more to do in between, another popular outdoors destination is the Mount Washington Alpine Resort. The mountain is an hour and a half from home, where guests can enjoy the thrills of skiing or snowboarding in a place that receives the largest snowfalls in western Canada.

Additionally, in the winter, there is tubing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and general winter fun. In the summer, the mountain attracts hiking enthusiasts from all around. Even those guests looking to relax their legs after a day of hiking the Trans Canada Trail can enjoy the scenic views from a ride on the chair lift.
