First, the Trans Canada Trail, also known as the Great Trail, runs right by the doorstep. This is the longest recreational trail in the world, covering 13 provinces and territories and running 21,500 kilometers, or just about 13,360 miles. Two sections lie closest to the property, the Nanaimo City Trail and the Nanaimo River Trail, on which guests can hike, bike, or horseback ride.
Another great way to spend the day is down at Myles Lake, which is only about a minute walk down the lane from the property. Here, guests can bring a picnic to spend the day and pass the time fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. While so there is so much more to do in between, another popular outdoors destination is the Mount Washington Alpine Resort. The mountain is an hour and a half from home, where guests can enjoy the thrills of skiing or snowboarding in a place that receives the largest snowfalls in western Canada.
Additionally, in the winter, there is tubing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and general winter fun. In the summer, the mountain attracts hiking enthusiasts from all around.
