The first bedroom has one queen-size bed, and the second bedroom has two single beds. Each bed comes with a pillow and a mattress cover, however, guests can either bring their own bedding or request it from the host for an additional fee. The bathroom comes with a shower, a toilet, and a sink, and guests will also need to bring their own towels and personal care items. The fully-equipped kitchen boasts a full-size refrigerator, a stove, a toaster, and a coffeemaker with a permanent filter. In the bright and airy living space, there is a sofa and an open-plan design with a dining table for all the family. Other amenities include electric heating and a television with a DVD player.
Outside, guests will find a deck with seating and a barbecue grill as well as a picnic table to enjoy an al fresco meal. There is also a sandy beach, a safe swimming area just a few steps away, boat rentals, and one parking space by the cottage, with more spaces available at the on-site parking area. From this cottage, guests can enjoy fantastic views of the bay and the river as well as direct access to the beach only 150 feet away.

Location + Surroundings
A couple of kilometers to the south, the river flows into Rice Lake--a large, scenic lake covering 100-square kilometers in surface area. The lake is full of fish such as bass, muskellunge, panfish, and walleye, and the water and its surroundings also provide a habitat for beavers, deer muskrats, turtles, eagles, herons, and ospreys, making it popular among fishers, boaters, kayakers, and wildlife enthusiasts alike. In the woods around the lake, guests will find trails, routes, and facilities for hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and golfing as well (please see the Activities section for more details).
At Ganaraska Forest, which is about 30 minutes to the west, guests can enjoy hundreds of kilometers of multi-use trails, which wind their way through 4,452 hectares (11,000 acres) of woods that are home to a variety of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and songbirds. Even more trails can be found at the Darling Wildlife Area, which is on the west side of the Otonabee River to the north of the cottage.
For shopping and dining, guests will find a variety of options at Peterborough, which is about 25 minutes to the north. The cottage is about an hour and 40 minutes from Toronto Pearson International Airport, where the nearest international airport is located.

Guests can go boating on the Otonabee River and Rice Lake, to which the river connects, with rentals and docking available right at the site. Here, guests will also find a sandy beach and a safe swimming area to enjoy.
At Rice Lake, guests can also go boating, kayaking, and fishing, with bass, muskellunge, panfish, and walleye being among the species of fish they can catch. In the winter, when the lake freezes over, guests can also go ice fishing for bluegill, crappie, and perch, and they can go iceskating.
At Ganaraska Forest, guests will find hundreds of kilometers of multi-use trails. In the warmer months, they can go hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, off-road motorcycle riding, and ATV riding. In the the winter, they can go cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
For guided horseback riding experiences, guests can visit Maple Crescent Farm and Trickle Creek Farms. For golfing, guests can hit the links at Bellmere Wind Golf. For cycling, guests will find a variety of routes in the area that were created by local cycling clubs.
