This property is a a unique 40-acre educational facility and Canada’s First Sustainability and Reconciliation Centre. 100% of our proceeds go toward providing accessible, healthy, local food to the Kingston community and as well as educational opportunities for youth to learn about sustainable living and agriculture.
This one of a kind accommodation grants you access to all that No. 9 Gardens has to offer. This includes the gardens themselves, featuring no-till and seed-saving beds, a three sisters garden planted in partnership with Queen's Indigenous Initiatives, and an apple orchard.
The Welcome Centre is stocked with products from local retailers and farms as well as our own produce for sale to the public. We encourage our guests to check out our vendors during their stay.
No. 9 Gardens also hosts regular workshops each weekend with various guests and educators on relevant topics including farm-to-table cooking, clay making, and foraging - check out our website for more details.
As an incentive to encourage local tourism in Ontario, the government is urging citizens to book with local attractions to help recover for the toll COVID-19 has caused. As a local ecotourism destination, this property is an eligible location for this claim. This incentive allows for 20% of 2022 accommodation expenses to be claimed in the tax season as a deductible. Help our Ontario business and book your destination at this property!
This site is always a work in progress as we are working hard to showcase and put into practice our vision of a sustainable future, we can't wait to share it with you.
