Description of Glamping Units
This 27-foot high tipi sleeps up to six guests, featuring army-style bed cots and a double bed. There is a wooden decking underneath the accommodation, and it comes with a battery-run lantern. Outside, there are two picnic tables and six Muskoka chairs, making it a lovely place to wind down together in the evening, and share stories under the stars. Glampers will also have a campfire pit with free starter wood provided and a gas barbecue. 'Al fresco' barbecues and picnics are a must.
There is a sustainable composting toilet and an outdoor rain water eco-shower outside. Like the other accommodations on this glamping site, there are no open flames allowed inside of the any of the rental units - all cooking must take place outdoors. The host at this site is committed to a vision of sustainability. Guests can contribute to this vision by staying in the eco-cabins and eco-loft, all of which are fitted with environmentally-friendly composting toilets and wonderful rain water showers. Other facilities include a picnic shelter where guests can set up a picnic meal for themselves and their fellow glampers.
All of the accommodations at this site have access to "The Barge" which is an 85-foot boat that can be used by guests for swimming, fishing, and partying.

The check-out time is at 10 a.m. and the check-in time can vary according to the times at which the boat can bring glampers to the island. There is a regular service, free of charge. However, arrivals to the island after 10 p.m. will incur a charge of $100.

Location + Surroundings
This glamping site is located on an island on Rice Lake, which is 25 miles long and two to three miles wide in size, and is near the rural, rolling hills and farmland of southeastern Ontario. At only five minutes from the village of Roseneath, this property is also within easy driving distance of Toronto, Kingston, and Peterborough. These eco-friendly accommodations are surrounded by hiking trails, and a number of farm animals including grazing baby sheep, alpacas, piglets, and free-range chickens. On this half-mile long island, there are plenty of activities to do on the water. From canoeing and kayaking to swimming, paddleboating, and fishing, glampers are bound to have a good time exploring the area offshore. In the center of the island, there is a sand volleyball court, badminton court, horseshoe pits, and gigantic checkers.
Glampers can also hike around the island, go wild raspberry and blackberry picking, and spend a relaxing time in one of the reflection and reading areas around the site. Guests are also welcome to use the 100-year-old bread and pizza oven to whip up one of their favorite recipes while on vacation.
