There is plenty to do in the surrounding area. The Papineau-Labelle Wildlife Reserve is the most southerly wildlife reserve in Quebec and is quite unique. The reserve has a particular emphasis on year-round recreation activities, which are as diverse as fishing, hunting, canoeing, hiking, wildlife viewing, cross-country skiing, dogsledding, and snowmobiling. The Ouareau Regional Forest Park offers a range of hiking and snowshoeing trails and is a wonderful forest with several climbs up to see the majestic waterfalls. It is also one of the few parks in Quebec to allow dogs. The Mont-Tremblant National Park also offers some excellent hiking trails up through the mountains which afford commanding views over the lakes of the park.
