Stunning Rainforest Tent Rental near Playa Hermosa, Central Pacific
Safari tent in Playa Hermosa, Puntarenas
2 guests • 1 bed
This stunning rainforest tent rental is situated near Playa Hermosa, Central Pacific. Situated on the top of a hill overlooking the rainforest canopy, the tent sits majestically on a hardwood platform made from tamarindo, one of the strongest woods in the world.
Built for two, this large, handmade safari tent offers a bespoke hardwood bed, the property's signature queen-size Hobbit bed. Using hardwood that was found fallen around the farm, it's truly one-of-a-kind! From the bed, guests can watch the sun rise over the rainforest. The tent also has lots of screened windows and a large front opening that also has a screen. The ensuite bathroom allows guests all the luxuries of a hotel room. Additionally, the tent comes with solar-powered electricity to allow for light at night and small fans by the bed.
Not 20 feet from the tent, guests will find a beautiful rancho kitchen. This stunning teak structure with its natural palm roof is a feat of engineering. This style of structure was used here in Costa Rica for centuries past as living quarters, and the hosts love the design, so they've incorporated it into a fully-equipped private kitchen for guests' exclusive use while staying at this tent. Menu options are available for those who are interested.
Life is about making memories that last a lifetime; all that remains is to check dates and get booked in!
Glampers will be able to immerse themselves in the tranquility of this treetop setting while still enjoying access to modern amenities and conveniences during their stay. This incredible property features two charming safari tents featuring hardwood floors, a balcony boasting awe-inspiring canopy views of the rainforest, private kitchens, and an ensuite private bathroom. Both tents are equipped with electricity that is supplied via solar panels. Other amenities include cell service and bedside fans to stay cool on humid tropical nights.

Building the entire place by hand and by heart, with a wonderful local team of craftsmen, the hosts think guests will agree that the dream has been realized, and then some! He has taken camping in Costa Rica to another level!
The rainforest is magical, it recharges the batteries and rests the mind. To sleep here is the best gift someone can give themselves, but forget roughing it, imagine a huge handmade airy tent securely pitched on a hardwood platform, with a balcony looking down on the canopy, hardwood floors, an ensuite bathroom, and a fully-equipped kitchen. The Hobbit queen bed is unbelievable and an adventure in itself. Camping has never felt so good, this is pure glamping!
All the wood used in the project has fallen naturally, except the teak, which was plantation-harvested. This was vital to the hosts, they wanted to protect the delicate ecosystem that surrounds them. To stick with this theme, each person that stays here gets to have a tree planted for them, thereby making their trip here carbon neutral!

Additional info
The hosts like to keep cars away from the tents, so guests will need to walk about 100 meters to get to the tent. The paths are not concrete as the hosts like to leave things as natural as possible. With this in mind, suitcases with wheels cannot be pulled along, they will have to be carried. Both Colibri and Los Mono’s are situated at the top of a small but reasonable steep incline. Help with luggage can be arranged.
The tents are situated on the edge and overlooking the rainforest. Hacienda La Quina is also a working farm, and whilst there is no farm in the immediate area, guests may, from time to time hear distance farm vehicles passing out on the farm track about 500 meters away.
This area is home to a lot of wildlife and plants. The hosts ask guests to never ever feed any of the animals, or remove any of the plants. If guests are seen to do so they will be asked to leave.
Costa Rica has lots of amazing animals, like the monkeys, sloths, parrots, and toucans, but there are also a few critters to avoid. As with all the wildlife here, if guests see animals, they should not touch or try to get close. Guests should leave them alone, and they will leave visitors alone. Bugs, whilst here are way less than guests would expect. It is not something that glampers need to worry about, but if guests are a bug magnet, they should bring a bug spray with them. There are way more bugs at the beach than out here!
The hosts run a quiet please policy! Colibri and Los Monos tents are both private with no view of each other, but noise travels in the forest, they are about 200 meters apart. The hosts ask that no music is played and that guests let the nature noises be the wonderful backdrop.
The tents electricity is generously supplied by the rays of the sun via solar panels. However, the hosts ask that guests actively try and conserve electricity to ensure they have plenty for the lights and fan in the evening time.
Water is one of the world’s scarcest commodities and Costa Rica is no different. The water is not potable (however, fresh drinking water is provided) and comes from a natural spring, the hosts ask guests to conserve as much as they can when using the water supply for showering etc.
