This innovative tent is located in the Capertee Valley of New South Wales, about halfway between Mudgee and Lithgow. The exact location of the tent is withheld from the general public for a good reason: because of the exposing nature of the tent, guests need to be able to feel confident that their privacy will not be intruded upon by curious people wanting to see the tent for themselves—especially now that the tent has generated quite a bit of media buzz! Guests will receive information about the exact location of the tent and directions on how to get to it after booking.

The tent is set on a secluded paddock about three kilometers away from the front entrance of the 1,000-acre farm on which it is located. Except for the sheep and goats roaming around the fields and the birds flying overhead, guests will have the property all to themselves.

From the elevated position of the tent, guests will enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding Capertee Valley, which constitutes one of the largest canyons in the world. Between the canyon's sandstone escarpments, guests will find an extraordinary landscape filled with rolling hills, eucalyptus woodlands, rivers lined with she-oaks, deep and narrow slot canyons, granite outcrops, pagoda-like rock formations, and peaceful billabongs surrounded by reeds.

Amid these various environments, guests are bound to see an abundance of birds flitting about. The valley is designated as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International, and 235 bird species have been spotted inside of it, including 25 threatened species. Turquoise parrots, square-tailed kites, glossy black cockatoos, speckled warblers, painted honeyeaters, and red-rumped parrots are among the many species guests may see.

The valley is also home to an array of natural attractions, including Wollemi National Park, Turon National Park, Gardens of Stone National Park, Capertee National Park, and the Mugii Murrum-ban State Conservation Area. The site is about 45 minutes from Mudgee, where guests will find many restaurants, cafes, and wineries. It is about 200 kilometers from Sydney, where they will find the closest international airport. With a clear night sky above them and a BirdLife International-designated Important Bird Area around them, guests will be well-positioned to enjoy stargazing and birdwatching right at the site—especially with the telescope, binoculars, and iPad loaded with stargazing and birdwatching apps provided to them as part of the rental! Here, guests can also kick back and relax on the deck or the shaded hammock area during the day, or snuggle up by the fire pit at night.

Guests will find ample opportunities for outdoor recreation in the region's national parks. For example, they can go hiking and mountain biking at Capertee National Park; horseback riding, four-wheel driving, and climbing at Gardens of Stone National Park; and fishing, swimming, and canoeing on the Turon River in Turon National Park. At Lake Lyell, guests will find more opportunities for fishing, swimming, and canoeing, as well as kayaking, water skiing, and jet skiing.

Eco tours, birdwatching tours, four-wheel drive tours, helicopter tours, and heritage tours are also available through companies such as Capertee Valley Helicopters, Wheely Good 4WD, and Wolgan Valley Eco Tours.

For dining and wine tasting, guests can head to Mudgee, where they will find numerous restaurants and wineries in this region that specializes in the cultivation of red grape varieties.
