Algonquin Provincial Park is the oldest provincial park in Canada and consists of over 2,000 lakes and a large pine forest. The park is an excellent place for hiking, boating, and nature viewing. Visitors can see moose, black bears, timber wolves, and over 100 species of plants. The La Verendrye Wildlife Reserve is centered on Grand Lac Victoria and its two reservoirs. The park is well-suited to fisherman and anglers, and visitors can leave their trailers and/or fishing equipment overnight in the newly constructed parking lot. Toronto is within easy reach and great for a day out as it is home to a wide range of activities. Visitors can climb the CN tower to gain commanding views of the surrounding urban sprawl, take a boat trip to visit the Toronto Islands, visit Ripley's Aquarium, or visit the art, culture, and nature-themed exhibits at the Royal Ontario Museum, among many other things.
