At Barrington Lake and the eight portage lakes around the site, guests can fish for walleye and northern pike. Because of how remote the lake is and how few people visit it as a result, the lake abounds with these fish, which are not subject to overfishing. In the winter, guests can go ice fishing, accessing the lakes via snowmobile.

In the surrounding Wabakimi Provincial Park, guests will find ample waterways for canoeing, with a network of more than 1,242 miles (2,000 kilometers) of lakes and rivers to explore. The park is also a prime spot for birdwatching, with numerous species of birds to spot, including bald eagles, pine grosbeaks, great grey owls, boreal chickadees, and white-winged crossbills.
