Mompiche

A small fishing village in northwestern Ecuador’s Esmeraldas province, Mompiche is a step away from the jungle experiences you’ll find in the country’s core. Mompiche is home to some of the prettiest beaches in Ecuador, hosting thousands of tourists every year. As such, you’ll find plenty of options for beach bumming days under the sun. Check out the region’s coast by traveling north to Sua. The fishing village hosts several species of seabirds, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spectate them as they do some fishing of their own. Nature lovers should also check out the island of Muisne, where beaches, forests, and a fishing culture join together for one unforgettable island experience. If you’re hitting the northern parts of Ecuador and want to see its coast, be sure to visit Mompiche and the rest of the coastal towns of Esmeraldas.
