Unique Tree House with Jetted Bathtub in Woodlands of La Coruña in Galicia, Spain

These forest tree houses, in addition to being an innovative and different type of rural accommodation, can be used as shelter while observing the native fauna in the forest in which they are located. They therefore form part of its biodiversity. A small stream runs through the area, creating a pond bursting with life.

In the water, you’ll find trout, freshwater eels and frogs, which can be discerned among the colorful swarms of dragonflies, as well as grey herons and kingfishers, which nest nearby and come to fish in the channels and ponds with their chicks. This refuge of wetland and deciduous forest, with its diverse range of wild fruits, is home to a vast variety of birds, including water birds like moorhens and mallards, and nocturnal birds like owls and Eurasian eagle-owls.

The Os Apriscos plot, which has a surface area of one hectare, is located on the left bank of Tines River, in the village of O Areal, situated one kilometer from the capital of Outes, A Serra de Outes. The river crosses the capital and flows into the sea two kilometers downstream at the marshlands of the River Tambre, forming the inlet “A Ensenada de Enganho”, which is actually one of the largest in Spain. You’ll also notice the presence of old irrigation channels, which were built in the 19th and 20th centuries in hopes of helping to create more pasturelands.

The Os Apriscos plot preserves the channels, a pastureland area, an orchard with old fruit trees and, in the center, a pond surrounded by deciduous woodland that conceals the cabins, which are camouflaged like natural places of refuge and raised above ground level among the hundred-year-old trees.
