At Swallow Falls State Park, guests will find the 53-foot-tall Muddy Creek Falls, hiking and biking trails, and an old growth forest containing ancient hemlock trees, some of which are more than 300 years old. More trails can be found at Deep Creek Lake State Park, which is forested with oaks and hickories and home to American black bears.
For a veritable feast of recreational facilities and activity options, guests can head to Wisp Resort, where they will find ski slopes, golf courses, zip lines, water adventures, a whitewater rafting and kayaking course, a unique roller coaster, cafes, and many other attractions.
