The nearby area features a wealth of natural activities for guests to enjoy. Already situated within a wilderness recreation area, guests can just walk out their front door toward some nearby hiking paths. Those willing to take a short drive can enjoy a unique kayaking and canoeing experience in the local Dunham Bay Marsh by Lake George. On Lake George, guests can swim and do some boating, or they can even go fishing, the lake is well-known for its plentiful stock of trout, bass, and salmon.

For more settled activities, visitors can drive down to the village of Lake George. There, they can visit a restored British fort at The Fort William Henry Museum, or, for some more light-hearted fun, check out the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum. Dining options in the area are varied and range from local, French-accented cuisine at Bistro LeRoux, to casual barbecue-style food at the Streaking Moose.
