Honesdale

The small town of Honesdale is located in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, along the rugged hills by the Keystone State’s north-western border with New York. Visitors will find that its town motto-“A great place to visit”-is justly deserved. It is famous for its well-preserved Victorian architecture, with hundreds of 19th-century buildings dotting its historic downtown and if the period atmosphere of the town that gave birth to the American railroad system were not enough, it also offers an annual fair, classic car events, and a well-attended annual roots music festival. Hikers and photographers will wish to check out the views from the nearby Irving Cliffs, named after the writer Washington Irving, and explore further afield in the surrounding hill country that also offers recreational activities from photography to rafting, mountain-biking and fishing.
