Descripción del alojamiento

· Apto para familias con niños

This beautiful, off-the-grid yurt is located in Monticello, Southeast Utah, near Moab, and has plenty of heating to keep glampers warm in winter, accommodating up to six guests. There is a queen-size bed, a large single-size couch, a full-size futon, and a single pull-out bed. The yurt is fully insulated from floor to ceiling, so the wood burn stove will take the nip off the coldest of days. It's equipped with a small solar system power for basic appliances, including lamps, so guests can snuggle up on the couch and read about the next day's adventure. The kitchen area has a sink plumbed to the outside for washing dishes inside of the yurt—though there is no running water. There is also a double burner stove, with all necessary cookware and tableware.

There is an enclosed pit toilet that is located 25 feet from the yurt, and there is also an outdoor shower that is 20 feet away. For showers, guests will need to heat water and use the shower bucket, or rinse in the sink inside the yurt. Sheets, blankets, propane, and a 55-gallon drum of water is provided during spring, summer, and fall—approx mid April-mid Oct—and two five-gallon jugs of water are provided for guests to fill up in town during winter—approx Nov-Mar. Guests are asked to bring extra water if they is necessary. In addition, guests can fill up with water in the town of Monticello at the Discover Center, which is just 15 minutes from the yurt.

Wood is also provided during the winter months, from approx November to March, but during spring through fall, guests will be provided one bundle, and will responsible for bringing their own additional wood. Guests must also chop their own kindling and bring newspaper for starting fires in the wood-burning stove.

The yurt is a partial self-service glamping experience. Glamping means that guests can expect a camping like experience, but will have additional amenities that may not be provided when camping. These amenities include solar power, a wood stove, a queen sized bed, a couch, clean linens, a sink plumbed to the outside, etc. However, guests will still experience camp like conditions, such as having to make a fire in the wood stove to heat the yurt, hot temperatures in the summer, cold temps in the winter, using a pit toilet, filling up water in jugs to wash and clean dishes, there will be dirt/dust and the occasional cobweb and although hosts do the best to clean the yurt after each guest it should be expected that the yurt will not be as clean as a hotel. Animals and insects, such as coyotes, mice, spiders, flies, rabbits, dogs, and occasionally goats or horses might be around the property. None of the above items are grounds for a cancellation or refund, so guests should please come prepared and have appropriate expectations before the stay. The yurt is a special place to many, including the hosts. The hosts are constantly working on property in order to make it as nice of an experience as possible for all guests. Más información

The yurt can comfortably accommodate six people. This is a partial self-service accommodation, meaning that some work or extra preparation is required on the guests' part, both pre and post-trip.

Inside the yurt, guests will find a wood-burning stove and a propane heater to keep warm.

The yurt is only a short walk away from a country dirt road and sits at 7,500 feet, so during the winter, an all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicle is recommended to avoid getting stuck in the mud and/or snow. The host also recommends that guests have roadside assistance in case they get stuck and need to be towed. High clearance is not necessary, and the roads are plowed after any snow in the winter.
