Isle La Motte

Isle La Motte is the northernmost of the islands that dot scenic Lake Champlain, which forms the boundary between New York and Vermont, not far from the Canadian border. Not only can glampers enjoy the peace and quiet of an island idyll, far from the madding crowds of the city, enjoying the beaches and woods of the island itself and the views across the waters to the distant Adirondacks and Green Mountains, but there are also numerous historic sites from the French Colonial period including shrines and farms to explore. With characterful destinations such as North and South Hero on the adjacent Grand Isle and Burlington, the largest city in the state, with its historic neighborhoods, culture and eateries, only a short journey away, escape to Lake Champlain for a truly authentic New England getaway.
