Johnson

Located in northern Vermont in beautiful Lamoille County, the small town of Johnson makes for a perfect base to explore the scenic riches of the Green Mountain State. Located near Vermont’s highest mountain, Mansfield Mountain, a favorite with hikers, and thanks to the Smuggler’s Notch winter resort, skiers as well, the settlement is also an excellent location for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts wishing to tackle the northern reaches of the famous Long Trail as it weaves its way through the mountains towards the Canadian border. Meanwhile, water sports enthusiasts will also enjoy the opportunity to go kayaking or fishing on the nearby Lamoille River from which the county derives its name. For the less active, or more culturally inclined, the town is within range of many of Vermont’s most interesting towns ranging from historic Burlington on the shores of Lake Champlain, to the state capital Montpelier.
