Cullman is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation which combines history, small-town Southern charm, and fantastic natural scenery. But if you're looking to head into nature, sites such as Smith Lake and the Ave Maria Grotto are close by and easily accessible. Go swimming, paddleboarding, jet-skiing, fishing, or boating on the lovely Smith Lake, go skydiving at Skydive Alabama or head to Hurricane Creek Park for hiking, biking, or rock climbing. The Ave Maria Grotto is also well worth a visit - it is a four-acre park with 125 miniature reproductions of historic buildings and shrines created by a Benedictine monk in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
