Arkansas is the perfect destination for those looking for some old-fashioned southern charm, as well as fantastic access to gorgeous, almost untouched nature. Compton is fabulously located in Arkansas, close to the spectacular Ouachita forest. Here, you can easily explore the numerous trails that crisscross this beautiful forest, such as Eagle Rock Loop, Little Missouri Trail, Winding Stairs Trail, or the Talimena Scenic Byway Trail. You absolutely cannot miss the gorgeous Hemmed-in-Hollow Falls, which are well worth the hike or kayak in. The Big Bluff & The Goat Trail are also excellent and will provide breathtaking views of the area. You can also head to one of the many small towns close by for a delicious meal, either traditionally Southern or something a little more modern.
