The cabin is across the road from the Carson Creek entrance to Broken Bow Lake, which means guests will have easy access to the lakefront. Guests are allowed to fish, swim, canoe, and kayak on the lake, as well as ride boats and paddle-boards. Guests can also snorkel and scuba-dive in the water, or hike on scenic trails around the shore.
Broken Bow Lake flows into the rapids of Mountain Fork River, about 20 minutes away from the cabin. Guests can go canoeing, kayaking, and whitewater rafting along the river.
Guests can spend the day at Beavers Bend State Park. The park has many nature trails suitable for hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing. Guests can also have picnics or ride ATVs at the park.
The cabin is a short drive away from Hochatown State Park, where guests can go hiking, cycling, and golfing. Additionally, they can hike up into the Ouachita Mountains where they can ride mountain bikes, climb up the cliffs, or zip-line over the treetops.
When guests want to take a break from the rapids or the mountains, they can relax in the towns of Broken Bow and Hochatown. Both towns have many unique shops and popular restaurants. Broken Bow has a golf course where guests can play a round of 18 holes, as well as a vineyard and a brewery offering tours and tasting events. Families can take their kids to a petting zoo or mini-golf in Hochatown. History buffs can tour the Forest Center Heritage Museum or the Gardner Mansion and Museum, which celebrate Indian heritage and pioneer history.
