Scenic views
This safari camp is situated in its own private wedge of the Maasai Mara, surrounded by fabulous indigenous trees overhanging the Olare Orok River. It is outside of the Reserve and Conservancies, which can become quite busy during the months of June to September. This is one of the benefits of staying here; the offer of privacy and seclusion that everyone desires when visiting the Maasai Mara. This prime location provides great access to a number of good gaming areas in the Mara such as Musiara swamp, Rhino Ridge, Paradise Plains, and the leopard-rich Talek River. The Mara is definitely Big Cat territory, hosting one of the highest lion densities in the world. It is also where over two million wildebeests, zebras and gazelles migrate annually. It has over 95 species of mammals and 570 recorded species of birds. Home to the Big Five (lion, African elephant, rhinoceros, cape buffalo and leopard) and world famous for its depiction in Big Cat diaries… the Maasai Mara ecosystem is not one to miss on any safari itinerary to Kenya or East Africa.
Activities near Nairobi
  • Wildlife watching

  • Safari/Game drive

Aside from sundowners, picnics and wildlife spotting whilst on game drives in this fabulous location, one of the most spectacular experiences while staying here is the opportunity for an epic walking adventure across the Maasai plains to the Loita Hills. Departing from Sand River over a 10 day adventure with local Maasai guides, guests walk along ancient trails left by the Maasai tribe to another camp in the Loita Hills wilderness. This is truly an epic safari and the only way to really experience the African bush.
