This unique caboose accommodation is located on a farm just four kilometers south of Kaikoura, New Zealand, and can accommodate four guests. The caboose is one of only two in the world and took over two years to complete, with beautifully stained wood panels. It is double skinned and fully insulated with thick sheep's wool insulation. There is one bedroom in the caboose with a second in its companion sleep-out caboose. A super-king-size bed can divide into two king-single beds, plus two single bunk beds in the sleep-out. A basic continental breakfast is included. The bathroom at the back of the wagon has a toilet room with a sink and a separate shower. Linens, towels, and toiletries are provided. Bathroom robes and slippers are provided in adult sizes and guests can purchase these from the host if they wish.

The wagon features a compact kitchen with a microwave, a refrigerator, kettle, toaster, rice cooker, sink, crockery, and cutlery as well as tea and coffee making facilities. At the front of the wagon, there is a small lounge area with a stunning view of Mount Fyffe. Here, guests will find an electronically adjustable table, a 23” widescreen HDTV and Blu-ray/DVD/CD player, and a comfy faux-leather sofa. Other amenities include an air conditioning unit that doubles as a heat-pump and is controlled with an infrared handset. Outside, there is a bath heated by burning wood and a fully-equipped shared outdoor barbecue shelter.

Guests staying in this accommodation share certain outdoor facilities with guests staying in other accommodations on the property. These include a fully-equipped outdoor barbecue shelter with a gas barbecue, a gas oven, a hob, a sink, crockery, cutlery, and outdoor tables and chairs. Glampers will have exclusive access to the host's private collection of farm animals including llamas, pigs, an alpaca, sheep, a pony, a donkey, a deer, and chickens. A continental breakfast is left in the fridge for guests to enjoy on the day of their arrival. Guests will find a selection of breakfast cereals, a loaf of bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, homemade jam, and seasonal fruit and farm-fresh eggs when available.

This unique rental accommodation is located on a farm four kilometers from the town of Kaikoura on the spectacular east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The town has incredible scenery, as the Seaward Kaikoura mountains nearly come to the sea at this point on the coast. Due to this coastal setting, there are many walking tracks up and through the mountains, as well as a wide range of land and sea based activities. The property is near State Highway 1, making it about two hours south of Blenheim, and two and a half hours north of Christchurch.

Glampers can book a llama trek from their accommodation or venture beyond the property to enjoy the amazing scenery of this spectacular location. The nearby Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway is a beautiful three-hour walk along this stunning coastline with unforgettable mountain views. The area is known for its mountain biking trails and the most popular of these are from Half Moon Bay to Okiwi Bay, The Kowhai River Trail, and The Mount Fyffe Track.

Guests can enjoy an unforgettable experience swimming with New Zealand fur seals in the shallow bays of the beautiful Kaikoura Peninsula where no experience is necessary and all equipment is supplied. Glampers can also try swimming with dolphins in the bay and go whale watching. The Kaikoura coastline is the perfect place for diving, with Dive Kaikoura offering tuition and guided tours as well as equipment sales, rental, and servicing. Kaikoura Kayaks offer guided kayak tours for guests to catch a glimpse of fur seals, blue penguins, and dusky dolphins.
