This secluded vacation rental is located in Peel Forest, South Island, and can provide up to eight guests with a chance to enjoy a tranquil getaway in which they will be totally surrounded by lush rainforest within the largest nature reserve in the Geraldine area. With three stories, large windows, and multiple decks, the cabin allows guests to feel completely immersed in every level of the surrounding forest, from the floor to the canopy.

It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Guests will find a queen-size bed in each of the first two bedrooms, while the third bedroom contains one double bed and a single bed with single trundler. Two of the bedrooms are equipped with televisions, and every bed in the cabin has an electric blanket. A Porta-Cot is available as well.

Guests will find a clawfoot bathtub in the bathroom and a luxurious shower with a rain showerhead. High-quality linens, towels, and organic coconut soaps are provided.

The living room is furnished with two reclining sofa chairs, a sofa, a wood-burning fireplace, and a library of books and DVDs in the living room. In the covered, open-air dining area, guest will find a six-person table surrounded by magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding treetops.The fully-equipped kitchen comes with an oven, a stove, a microwave, a toaster, and a refrigerator, along with a six-person dining table.

Other amenities include a heat pump, air conditioning, and board games. Breakfast provisions are provided and consist of cereals, teas, and coffee.

Outside, guests will find multiple decks with outdoor dining tables, a barbecue grill, and panoramic views of the surrounding forest, one hectare (2.47 acres) of which guests will have all to themselves, save for the abundant birds who call it home.

Inside the home, guests will enjoy amenities such as a wood-burning fireplace, a heat pump, electric blankets, air conditioning, a clawfoot bathtub, a shower with a rain showerhead, board games, books, and multiple televisions with DVDs. Outside, they will find multiple decks with outdoor dining tables, a barbecue grill, and panoramic views of the surrounding forest.

This cabin is located in Peel Forest in the Canterbury Region of New Zealand's South Island, where it is set within a one-hectare (2.47-acre) private forest that connects to the Peel Forest Park Scenic Reserve. Strolling around the grounds of the cabin and the surrounding forest, guests will hear the songs of abundant native birds and see a variety of native trees and floral vegetation, including Kotukutuku (also known as tree fuchsia), Himalayan lilies, and rhododendrons.

The adjacent Peel Forest Park Scenic Reserve encompasses 783 hectares (1,934 acres) of podocarp and broadleaf rainforest filled with the lush foliage of kahikatea, lowland totara, and matai trees, along with a variety of flowering shrubs and native ferns. The forest provides habitats to 10 species of native birds, including pīpīwharauroa (shining cuckoo), koekoeā (longtailed cuckoos), and korimako (bellbirds), along with lizards such lizards such as jeweled geckos.

To the north, the reserve borders the Mt Peel/Waikari Hills Conservation Area, the mountainous terrain of which is home to tahr, red deer, chamois, and wild pigs. Guests will find a network of 17 trails winding through the reserve and the conservation area, ranging from half-hour jaunts to three-hour treks.

Other attractions in the area include Geraldine Farm Tours, Alpaca Walks Geraldine, Peel Forest Horse Trekking, and the Rangitata River, which is renowned for its salmon fishing and whitewater rafting opportunities. Guests will find a variety of boutiques and dining options in Geraldine, which is about 20 minutes to the south. The cabin is about two hours from Christchurch, where the nearest international airport is located.

For nature walking and hiking, guests will find a network of 17 trails to explore in the adjacent Peel Forest Park Scenic Reserve and Mt Peel/Waikari Hills Conservation Area. The trails provide a variety of options in terms of difficulty level, time commitment, and natural features. They also provide rich opportunities for wildlife viewing and bird watching, with 10 species of native birds to be seen, including pīpīwharauroa (shining cuckoo), koekoeā (longtailed cuckoos), and korimako (bellbirds), along with lizards such lizards such as jewelled geckos.

For cycling and biking, guests will find a variety of country roads and biking trails around Peel Forest and Geraldine. Guests interested in horseback riding can go on rides with Peel Forest Horse Trekking, which is just two minutes down the road from the cabin. On the Rangitata River, guests can go whitewater rafting with Rangitata Rafts and fishing for salmon.

To see a local farm and meet animals such as deer and sheep, guests can visit Geraldine Farm Tours. They can also spend time with alpacas at Alpaca Walks. For shopping and dining, guests will find options around Geraldine, where they can also catch a film at the Geraldine Cinema. Guests can also enjoy food, drinks, and live music at the nearby Peel Forest Cafe and Bar.
