Description of Glamping Units
This charming picturesque cottage is privately nestled among trees and wildflowers overlooking a canal in Damazan, France, and can accommodate eight guests comfortably.
There are four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and built-in armoire. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and large armoire. The third bedroom has a twin-size bed and armoire. The fourth bedroom has a twin size bed and offers a view of the canal. Both bathrooms have a vanity and toilet and one has a shower while the other has a bathtub. Linens and towels are provided.
The impressive two-story living room boasts a timber and beam design and features a stunning 17th Century wood-burning fireplace. There is a comfortable sofa and loveseat for relaxing by the warmth of the fire. French doors from the living room lead to the terrace that looks onto the canal. The dining room is adjacent to the living room and has a traditional farm table with seating for eight. French doors lead to the front lawn where guests will find the nearby swing set and a vegetable garden.
Just inside the entryway, there is a large study. French doors lead from the study to the terrace where guests may choose to relax and enjoy the view of the bridge and fields beyond.
Stairs from the dining room lead to a mezzanine level where guests will find another area for relaxing and enjoying some quiet time. There is a large pull-out sofa (perfect for extra guests) as well as a desk and comfy reading chairs. The "French blue and yellow" kitchen comes fully equipped with everything needed for cooking and dining. A refrigerator, a stove, an oven, and a dishwasher cover storage, cooking and clean-up while a microwave, a toaster, a blender, and a coffeemaker are available for added convenience. All cookware, dinnerware, and utensils are provided. There is an adorable table for four that would make the perfect place for a breakfast of coffee, juice, and toast topped with jam made fresh from the fruits of the property. French doors from the kitchen lead to the quaint and inviting dining terrace outside. Guests may choose to set the table for dinner and use the BBQ to grill up a delicious meal to be enjoyed with some local wine.
Inside entertainment comes in the form of movies, games, books, and for the card sharks in the group, a poker table.
The grounds and outdoor spaces are endless. Further down from the terrace are steps leading to the pool. Flowering trees and colorful flowers offer privacy for guests to relax poolside on a chaise lounge or deck chair. This cottage is set on gorgeous, private grounds and comes equipped with everything guests will need for a peaceful and restful stay. There is Wi-Fi access as well as cable/satellite TV. Laundry facilities and cleaning supplies will come in handy for longer stays. Several terraces, porches, and gardens surround the cottage offering plenty of outdoor areas for relaxing and enjoying the serene setting. Guests can relax poolside, soak up the sun and then take a refreshing dip to cool off. There are two mountain bikes and a ladies bike available for those wanting to get out and explore. This traditional French farmhouse is located in the hamlet of Lompian near the 13th Century village of Damazan in France. The country lane leading up to the property is lined with fields of sunflowers, corn, and strawberries, and crosses an old bridge over the Canal Lateral which can be seen from several locations on the property. The village of Damazan is only five minutes away and several other of most beautiful villages in France are nearby. These include Pujols, Penne, Bazas, and Vianne. Damazan is near the major highway, A62, as well as other highways making for easy driving access to some of these villages and historic sites in Southwest France. Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by the caretaker who will show them around, answer any questions, and clean the house once a week. The grounds and pool are also maintained.

Guests staying here can easily pass the days away in the tranquility of the cottage and its gorgeous surrounds. Lazing in the sun and cooling off in the large inground pool may be appealing on hot summer days. The nearby canal is ideal for a leisurely stroll as are the expansive grounds with all the pretty flowers and gardens. A bike ride is another way to get out and see the area.
Small boats can be rented in Pont des Sables at Gabare Val de Garonne and can be used on the Canal Lateral which will offer a scenic tour through several small villages. Canoe and kayak rentals are available nearby in Buzet and Clairac and there is excellent fishing in the Lot and Garonne Rivers.
Families may enjoy a visit to Le Forêt Magique animal farm where the kids can pet and feed goats and sheep, help milk cows, bottle-feed baby lambs and help make bread. Adults can check out the shop that carries a variety of beautiful mohair products such as scarves, hats, and blankets.
There are several striking chateaux buildings to be explored such as Chateau de Bonagil, Chateau de Mercués, Chateau de Roquetaillade and Josephine Baker's former home, Chateau des Milandes. For a unique experience, visitors may wish to take the two hour trip to Rocamadour to experience life in a town built into a mountain. Multiple stairways snake through the town leading the way to several shops, churches, art galleries, and restaurants.
Towns such as Villeneuve Sur Lot and Agen offer endless shopping for clothing, shoes, hats, books, antiques, as well as many second-hand treasures known as "brocantes." Also readily accessible are several antique fairs, marionette shows, small circuses, classic car meets, and dog shows. Those wanting to indulge in local specialties may wish to dine on foie gras. On its own or stuffed in fish and seafood, foie gras is the most celebrated regional delicacy.
Those looking to be active can head to the golf courses and tennis courts in Casteljaloux or go horseback riding or hiking on the trails in Clairac.
