This property is located at a jungle retreat in the outskirts of La Ceiba, Honduras, where it is situated in the northeastern corner of Pico Bonito National Park. Set along the bank of the Cangrejal River, the retreat is surrounded by lush, tropical foliage that blankets the cliffs that rise above the river. From the retreat, guests will enjoy scenic views of the river, the cliffs, and the waterfall of El Bejuco.
Encompassing 217 square miles of tropical rainforests, tropical cloud forests, and pine forests laced with rivers, strewn with waterfalls, and riven by forest-covered mountains, Pico Bonito National Park is home to one of the largest arrays of biodiversity in Central America. Armadillos, jaguars, monkeys, and toucans are just some of the species that can be found inhabiting its verdant forests.
Three other protected natural areas can be found within a day trip's distance from the site, enabling guests to also visit the hot springs and mangrove canals Nombre de Dios National Park, which is also home to Cacao Lagoon; the manatee-filled estuary waters of Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge; and the white sand beaches, coral reefs, and uninhabited islands of Cayos Cochinos Marine Monument.
While the site provides guests with plenty of natural tranquility and a sense of remoteness, it is only 20 minutes from the port city of La Ceiba, providing convenient access to beaches, shops, restaurants, and the nearest international airport.
