This waterfront vacation rental near Cork has four bedrooms, a large glass fronted living area providing spectacular views over river Ilen, a cozy fireplace, a magnificent open deck, luxury bathrooms, and a spacious kitchen, making it the perfect vacation rental for guests searching for tranquility, peace, and beauty. The boathouse sleeps up to eight guests with one double room, and three twin rooms—each room has it's own satellite TV. The villa has two ensuite bathrooms with a shower (one with a bidet), one communal bathroom with bath/shower, and one half bathroom.

In the villa, guests also have a 42 inch flat-screen TV and home cinema system, videos, DVDs and an iPod dock, underfloor central heating, a state of the art kitchen including both steam and traditional ovens. A barbecue and garden furniture are available on request—including sun loungers, there's also a beautiful open deck looking out onto the water, and the option of borrowing movies from the large lending library at reception. In addition, guests have access to the onsite, indoor, heated swimming pool, steam room, and exercise room.

The on-site facilities include a 43-foot long, heated indoor swimming pool; a steam room; an exercise room with a stationary bike; an exercise bench and weights; and a fire pit. Also, linens are provided, and there is parking for vehicles.

Check-in is between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The daily includes underfloor central heating, electricity, and baskets of wood. Guests must bring their own swimming towels for the pool.

The hosts can supply high chairs and/or travel cots, if required. They do not supply linen for the cot, so guests will need to bring their own baby bedding.

Smoking is not allowed inside any of the buildings nor accommodations at this property. As there are dogs and cats on the estate, guests with pets are only able to stay in the one pet-friendly rental, which is set in its own 10-acre woodland. Please inquire with the host, if interested.

The accommodation can only be rented on a weekly basis from mid- July through late August (Saturday to Saturday).

The glamping site comprises of 92 acres, 42 of these are birdsong-filled woodlands that are sympathetically managed and include exceptional tree ferns, bamboo, several ponds, bird hides and carriage drives. Another 42 acres are green fields sweeping down to the Ilen Estuary where sheep and ponies graze, as this is a working farm run on organic principles.

The remaining 13 acres are taken up with buildings, a walled garden with glass house and fruit cages, a sunken garden with fountain, a cherry drive, an orchard, a daffodil lined avenue, and two woodland gardens. This huge expanse of land provides endless exploring and walking for guests to enjoy, such as the "Pirate Trail" and the "Fairy Trail."

While in the area, guests can explore what West Cork has to offer, for example, the hosts sponsor the Slow Food Ireland guide and embody the essence of the Slow Food movement by providing a holistic, tranquil setting in the heart of Ireland's artisanal food-making region.

Golf is another activity, and this site is the ideal base for golf holidays in West Cork. There are a number of great courses less than an hour's drive away.

West Cork is rich in history from pre-historic monument, 15th-century ruins, stories of the Great Famine and the heroes of the establishment of the Irish Free State, which guests can explore at places like Skibbereen Heritage Centre, Ceim Hill Museum, Ballydehob, and Bantry.

Some of Ireland’s finest craftspeople are based in West Cork. Whether guests are collectors or just looking for a souvenir from the vacation, they will find a range of shops and galleries to choose from.

There are a number of excellent pubs located a short drive from the estate. Most of these pubs have music some nights and some also serve food. If guests wish to dine at a restaurant, choose from one of the many fine eateries in the area. A variety of different cuisines are available, always comprised of fresh Irish food, mainly produced locally.

Whether guests are looking for an evening out dancing to live music or to sit by a fire and enjoy listening to a traditional music session, there are pubs and other venues throughout the area to suit all music tastes.
