There is plenty to do in the surrounding area. The Appennino Lucano Val d'Agri National Park is a newly-established national park which is around 70,000 hectares in size. There is plenty to do there, including boat trips, swimming, and fishing in the Agri River. There is also a wide variety of plants, and animals include wolf, wild boar, and otters. The Santuario Santa Maria di Anglona is a fascinating architectural site to visit. The town of Anglona itself no longer exists. All that remains is the church and the remains of what was once a pilgrimage site. The stunning church contains a wide array of traditional religious art. There are also well-preserved excavation sites of the town. The Rabatana, Tursi's old quarter, is also worth visiting. Built by the Saracens in the eighth century, this historic district is slowly being restored. There is now a working olive press that visitors can view.
