Nestled on the Talek River, near the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve, located in the heart of the Savannah wilderness in West Kenya, these comfy family tents offer an escape from the stresses of life in the city. With amenities and facilities that allow glampers the comfort of home while being totally immersed in a sublime African ecosystem, these tents are a great choice for a family getaway. With a variation of a double bed or two twin beds, up to two glampers can be accommodated with ease with the ability to accommodate more. Luxury bedding and towels are provided, along with a modern en-suite bathroom complete with a toilet and a shower, and other amenities.

Waking up to a sunbathed tent and sublime views of the Talek River, which borders Maasai Mara, is a fantastic way to start the day. Glampers can savor their morning coffee on the deck or in the restaurant, or sip on a glass of wine as nature provides a soothing soundtrack before retiring for the evening.

Glampers are welcome to enjoy meals, which are served at an extra fee, three times a day, or relax with a cold beer in the bar or the beer garden, or cozy up to the fireplace during the cool African evenings.

Airport transfers can be arranged and are complimentary, as well as guides for self-driving tours. There are experienced drivers and guides on site and an incredible game drive in open rooftop Landcruisers in Masaai Mara can be arranged.

Location + Surroundings

Talek is located in Kenya and lies in the Great Rift Valley, west of Nairobi. The glamping site is nestled near the Talek River, next to Talek Gate entrance which is a gateway to the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve. It lies in the African Great Rift Valley, too, and adjoins the Serengeti National Park along the Tanzanian border. The landscape boasts rolling hills, grassy meadows, abundant wildlife, and preserved savannah wilderness with sublime views all around. The National Reserve is the most visited protected area in Kenya and is world-famous for its annual migrations of Wildebeest and its big cats like lions, leopards and cheetahs. Olkiombo Airstrip is located approximately 15 minutes from the camp.

Named one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves, the Maasai Mara is located in southwest Kenya and together with the Serengeti National Park forms Africa’s most diverse eco-systems and a top safari destination. An abundance of wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, hippos, and of course the migrating wildebeest can be spotted during a game drive, as well as sublime vistas of vast plains. Other popular activities in the area include seeing the region from an eagle’s view with hot air ballooning and skydiving. Glampers can also relax at the glamping site with a cold beer or a glass of wine in the middle of the African wilderness.
