Guests can stroll directly to the nearby sandy, pristine beaches, where they can build sand castles, sunbathe, go beachcombing, and simply enjoy the gorgeous oceanside. The water is perfect for swimming, body surfing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, jet skiing, and paddleboarding. Diving and snorkeling tours will take visitors out into the water, allowing them to get close and personal to the island's fantastic local sea animals. There are also sightseeing boats, which offer views of the island landscape from the ocean. Back on land, the Great Barrier Island Golf Club is a great place to play a few rounds of golf on a beautiful day. There are also incredible trails that wind through the forests, some of which will lead explorers to secluded natural hot springs. The rental is a quick five-minute walk from Tryphena Wharf, where shops, cafes, pubs, and restaurants are available.
