This spacious accommodation is near Kaponga on New Zealand's North Island and can accommodate three guests. In the bedroom, there is a queen-size bed and a twin bed. Charming wood paneling and plenty of natural light make guests feel welcome. There is an amazing conservatory that looks out at Mount Taranaki, Tongariro, and Ruapehu. The ensuite bathroom has a toilet, a sink, and a shower and features more incredible mountain views. Linens and towels are provided.

Guests can spend their days exploring the park before heading to the onsite restaurant for an incredible three-course dinner. In the morning, guests can stop by the cafe for a hot beverage before setting out on the trails. The guest lounge rooms have sofas, chairs, and a fireplace for guests to enjoy.

Outside, guests can enjoy the crisp mountain air and views of New Zealand’s most perfectly formed volcano, Mount Taranaki. The walking trails vary by skill level and give all guests the opportunity to get out and explore the incredible area.

Guests will have access to the lounge where they can relax on the comfortable seating, converse with other guests, and get cozy by the fireplace. There is an onsite cafe, which offers lunches, hot beverages, and dessert. The restaurant at the lodge, perfect for an evening of indulgence, offers three-course set menus for dinner featuring the freshest ingredients. The incredible lodge is also eco-friendly as it is home to the oldest operating hydro generator in New Zealand.

The lodge is the perfect getaway for nature-loving glampers. Located in Egmont National Park, guests will have easy access to the nearby natural wonders. Dawson Falls Visitors Center and Historic Power House is the perfect place to start the trip as they offer information about the area and the hiking trails. Guests can also learn the history of one of the oldest operating generators in the world. The park has many relaxing walking trails that allow guests to explore the beautiful surroundings. For guests interested in a longer hike, the park has several tramping tracks including Stratford Plateau Track and Fantham’s Peak Return Trip. Guests will see a variety of local plants including the lowland forest of the rimu trees and the mossy “Goblin Forest.” Adventurous glampers skilled at climbing can try summiting Mount Taranaki.

Guests can go skiing at Manganui Ski Field, surfing at Opunake, or golfing at the Stratford Golf Club. At Taranaki Pioneer Village, guests can learn history at the outdoor museum. The Tawhiti Museum explains the region’s heritage with realistic and engaging displays. At Forgotten World Adventures guests can take a historical tour of the natural landscape of New Zealand by rail cart, rail bike, or jet boat. Just 18 miles away in New Plymouth, guests can visit local shops and restaurants.
