Masterton

Visit the largest town in North Island’s Wairarapa region, home to a friendly community and an outdoor region as vibrant as any on the island. If you’re traveling with family, your first stop in the town should be Queen Elizabeth Park. There, kids of all ages can enjoy flying fox rides, paddleboats, miniature trains, a skate park, mini golf course, and you can also hire bikes for the whole family. Be sure to stop by Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History. It offers exhibits dedicated to Maori history and also contemporary art. For a nice picnic in the outdoors, visit Henley Lake Park, where you’ll spectate little duck families marching around in and out of the pretty lake. There are many scenic walking trails in the park your family can enjoy.
