Description of Glamping Units
Providing breathtaking views of the river and the tree-covered landscape that surrounds it, this unique lodge accommodation used to be a sheep shearers' quarters, which were recently renovated. It is located right on the banks of the Whanganui River, New Zealand and is ideal for nature lovers. The overall lodge consists of seven bedroom units, four bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, a wood-burning stove, a barbecue grill, an outdoor covered eating area, and an open fire area.
The first and second rooms, Santail and Kiwi, each contain two twin-size beds and can accommodate two guests.
The third, fourth, fifth, and sixth rooms—Ruru, Pukeko, Kereru, and Kofare, respectively—each contain two bunk bed sets, providing four twin-size beds in total, which can accommodate four guests.
The seventh unit, Falcon, contains three bunk bed sets, providing six twin-size beds in total, which can accommodate six guests.
Linens are provided. The lodge is less than 10 minutes by foot from the on-site cafe, and it is a short, albeit steep, walk away from Lacy's Landing on the river. Read More

At the glamping site, there is a cafe serving breakfast, lunch, tea, coffee, and snacks. There is also a shop that sells locally-produced Manuka honey. Linens and towels are provided for guests. The lodges have shared facilities, which include a kitchen and a barbecue grill. From every accommodation, there are fantastic views and easy access to activities offered by the hosts.

Location + Surroundings
The glamping site is located in the Ruapehu District on the banks of the Whanganui and Retaruke Rivers on the North Island of New Zealand. Set on 5,000 acres of tracked land that are waiting to be explored, it is surrounded by the beautiful Whanganui National Park, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Some of the nearest towns within two hours are Ohakune and Taumarunui, and it is about halfway between Wellington and Auckland. The closest airport is Wanganui Airport. Read More

Guests don't have to travel far for some unique activities, with the glamping site offering plenty from right outside the front door. Guests can explore the wilderness via horseback or head out on the jet boat to The Bridge to Nowhere. The guides will drive guests to the Mangapurua Landing and lead them up the 40-minute walk to the bridge whilst they explain the history of the iconic New Zealand landmark and its surrounds. Alternatively, guests can mountain bike or tramp the 40-kilometer track from Whakahoro. Other activities include kayaking at the base of the Kaiwhakauka falls and clay pigeon shooting at the site.
