This accommodation is located in the countryside of Putaruru, which is situated in the south Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island. The property is set along the Waihou River Walk (also known as the Te Waihou Walkway), which winds through a scenic landscape of rolling countryside and flourishing wetlands as it follows the bank of the river providing views of native bush, gentle waterfalls, and the occasional trout along the way. Right next to the property, guests will also find the highlight of the walk: the self-descriptive Blue Spring—a spring of brilliantly blue water, the purity of which is claimed to be the most pristine in the entire world.

Other nearby natural attractions include the Waikato River, Lake Karapiro, Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park, Lake Rotorua, Mount Ngongotaha Scenic Reserve, and Sanctuary Mountain. The latter is an eroded volcano surrounded by one of the longest pest-proof fences in the world. Extending 47 kilometers, the fence safeguards a 3,400-hectare ecological island and wildlife sanctuary containing protected forests and wetlands, which are home to an array of endangered plants, wildlife, and birds, such as takahe, kiwi, and kaka.

The accommodation's location is set about halfway between the towns of Rotorua and Cambridge, both of which can be reached within 45 minutes. At Cambridge, guests will find a variety of art galleries, antique shops, pubs, and cafes, while Rotorua boasts attractions such as Rainbow Springs Nature Park, Paradise Valley Springs, the Government Gardens, and the living Maori village of Whakarewarewa. The city of Hamilton is about an hour away, where the nearest international airport is located. Read More
