This New Zealand tiny house is located in Putaruru on the North Island. The tiny home can sleep two guests and is perfect for a North Island escape! There is one double bed and one small single bed in the loft area. Guests will also find a vanity and a table and chairs along with some quirky decor. There is a separate toilet block where guests have access to a shower, a sink, and a toilet.

Guests have access to a kitchenette in the woolshed, just a short walk from the tiny home. The kitchenette is equipped with a benchtop oven, a fridge, a toaster, a just, a microwave, and dining ware. Guests will also find a barbecue area and a garden pergola to make the most of the amazing North Island weather and amazing views.

Outside, guests will find a closed in deck area to enjoy indoor/outdoor living. The tiny house is set in a private park-like ground that is secluded and tranquil. There are plenty of local birds that love to sing their songs while going about their day. Next door, guests will find the Te Waihou Walkway which supplies New Zealand with 70% of its bottled water and offers some amazing views. No matter what guests are looking for, this tiny home is a great option for a North Island escape and is one of the best places to stay in New Zealand.

With the Waihou River Walk (also known as the Te Waihou Walkway) running right by the property, guests will be perfectly positioned to enjoy a scenic walk along the Waihou River and the Blue Spring, which boasts some of the purest water in the world and is one of the most famous North Island activities!

For more nature walking and hiking, guests can head to the Waikato River Trails, Mount Ngongotaha Scenic Reserve, Whakarewarewa Forest, Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park, and the ecological reserve of Sanctuary Mountain. At the latter, guests can see endangered wildlife such as tuataras, takahe, kiwis, and kakas. To view kiwis and a number of other native birds and wildlife species up-close, guests can visit Rainbow Springs Nature Park, which runs a variety of mammal, reptile, and bird encounter programs.

For water-based recreation, guests can head to the Waikato River and Lake Karapiro, where they can go kayaking, canoeing, rowing, stand-up paddleboarding, jet skiing, water skiing, and jet boating, with rentals and trips available from outfitters such as the Boat Shed.

Guests interested in mountain biking can visit the Waikato River Trails, the Great New Zealand River Ride, and the Te Miro Mountain Bike Park, while cyclists will find themselves in one of the top cycling destinations in New Zealand, with a variety of country roads to explore.

Other activity options include horseback riding with Stone Hill Horse Trek, ziplining with Rotorua Canopy Tours, visiting the Hobbiton Movie Set, seeing traditional Maori dance performances at Whakarewarewa, and rolling downhill in a giant transparent plastic ball at OGO Rotorua.
