The skipper can meet you at the Tairua Marina, the fuel dock. The water taxi, Slipper Express, transfers take place in the morning. The exact departure time will be confirmed a few days before the guest's booking, as this is based on sea and tide conditions. Usually, the boat will set out around 10.00 a.m. and arrive at 10.30 a.m. Guests are advised to arrive 20 minutes before the departure time, allowing time to load luggage.
Sea transportation is dependent on favorable tides, wind direction, and wave height. These factors are taken into consideration for Skipper and passenger safety to prevent injury death or damage. Guests' transportation involves crossing the Tairua harbor entrance into the Pacific Ocean. If sea conditions are unfavorable a full refund will be offered to the guest. This may only be determined a few days prior to the guest's stay. Travel insurance is recommended for those with flights booked prior to and departure from the island.
