With Lake Taupo just outside, guests will want to jump right into the cool, crystal-clear waters. There they can swim, boat, paraglide, jet ski, and sail. Kayaking is a great way to explore not just the lake, but the surrounding rivers. Adventure-seekers will adore white-water rafting. For a bird's eye view of the gorgeous area, visitors can take a scenic helicopter tour or a float plane ride. Parachuting is also available. Taupo is known for its geothermal attractions, including Wai-O-Tapu, Wairakei Terraces, Craters of the Moon, Orakei Korako, Wairakei Natural Thermal Valley, and Waimangu. There are endless opportunities for hiking, including lakefront strolls and volcano treks. Guests can find their way to the gorgeous Huka Falls along the Waikato river, a true photographer's paradise.
