Description of Glamping Units
This beachfront cottage overlooks Bethells Beach in Waitakere, New Zealand, and can accommodate four guests. This studio-style cottage has a queen-size bed and a fold-out divan in the conservatory. The full bathroom has an open shower, a unique wooden mirror, lots of creative touches. Linens and towels are provided.
The main living area has a sofa and French doors providing views across the black sand dunes, the Tasman Sea, and the bush laden valley. The conservatory receives sunlight all day and offers a perfect place to dine while enjoying magnificent views and stunning scenery. The fully equipped kitchen comes complete with a microwave, a refrigerator, a freezer, an oven, cookware, dishes, and utensils.
Outside the conservatory door, there is a brick wood-fired barbecue, two comfortable lounge chairs, and spectacular views of the Tasman sea. Guests may want to sit at the beautiful stone table on the edge of the lawn, where they will enjoy unparalleled 360-degree views. Several games on the front lawn are available on request including chess, petanque, croquet, and table tennis is always on standby in the guest pavilion. Guests can also lie in the hammock and listen to the songs of the birds and waves of the west coast. A TV, a DVD player, and a stereo are available in the cottage for guests to enjoy.

This property is located in Waitakere, New Zealand, and is positioned high above Bethells Beach, overlooking the black iron sands of the dramatic Auckland west coast and the Tasman Sea. It is surrounded by spectacular scenery and is nestled among sculptured gardens and sheltered by 200-year-old Pohutukawa trees. There are several different walks accessible from the cottages including the Te Henga Walkway and the O’Neils Beach walk. Wainamu Lake, one of the nicest places for swimming in the country, is just a 40-minute walk from the cottage. The neighboring beach, Piha, is great for surfing and has unique rock formations. There are plenty of attractions in the area including Monterey Park and Model World, Crystal Mountain, Nihotupu Bush Tramway, Craftworld, Gannet colony near Muriwai, and Kiwi Valley. Guests can pack a picnic and go on the amazing walks leading from their cottage. The Te Henga Walkway follows the coastline from Bethells to Muriwai Beach and is about four hours each way. If a one-way expedition is preferred, the host can drive guests to Muriwai Beach so they can walk back to Bethells. On a hot day, guests can walk to the Wainamu Lake rock pools to go swimming and have a picnic on the shaded grass. The O’Neils Beach walk takes approximately 40 minutes each way. Guests will find many shaded picnic spots provided by the ancient Pohutukawa trees dotted along the shoreline. There are other walks available in the Waitakere Ranges just a 15-minute drive away. The ranges contain stunning examples of New Zealand’s native bush. Guests can go surfing and enjoy the sublime sea and sunsets in Piha and Bethells Beach, as well as O'Neills Beach where there are fewer crowds.
Guests who are feeling especially adventurous may want to go on a canyoning expedition at the neighboring beach, Piha. Equipment, lunch, and transport are provided, and no experience is necessary. In addition to the incredible walks, Bethells Beach has some of the best surf on the west coast. Guests can also take a helicopter ride over Auckland city. After a day of adventure, guests can watch the sunset over the majestic Tasman Sea from the Scandinavian hot tub.

Check-in is at 1:30 p.m. and check-out is at 10:00 a.m. Guests should let the host know their estimated time of arrival when they know or the day before arrival.
No meals are provided. Guests must bring all of their own food.
Any number of visitors over four per stay incurs an additional per-person fee.
Cottages that need cleaning over and above reasonable cleanliness of occupation will attract a fee relative to the condition in which the cottages are left.
While the host loves animals, guests are kindly asked to leave pets at home.
Reimbursement will be required for any damages.
