Visitors to this picturesque region can enjoy all sorts of fun activities. There are some fantastic walks, and places to enjoy picnics, swimming, and surfing right near the property. At Mangamaunu Point, about a five-minute walk away, guests can take a long, secluded stroll on the sandy beach. The host can organize surfing lessons for those who would like to learn this exciting pastime. It’s also possible to see native wildlife in its natural habitat by taking one of the many whale-watching tours on offer in Kaikoura. On these excursions, guests can spot dolphins, seals, albatross, and majestic sperm whales, which can grow up to 65 feet long.

Those who like to be active can travel an hour up to the peak of Mount Lyford, for some skiing and snowboarding, which is available between June and September. Back down in Kaikoura, there is an 18-hole golf course, and also a mini-golf course, for some family fun. From the center of town, glampers can take a half or full day excursion to go rafting or kayaking on the incredible Clarence River, and keen fishermen will find plenty of options for chartered trips from the town’s harbor. Guests who are looking for dining and retail therapy need look no further than Kaikoura, where there are some fabulous shops and restaurants. Glampers who visit in October can take advantage of the Seafest Wine and Food Festival, an annual celebration of the abundance of the ocean and all it represents for the Kaikoura region.
