Known for its top-notch waves, Mangamaunu’s is coveted by surfers from all over. The waves there brush the rugged shores of the region, and the region is a right-hand point break in the top of its class. Those looking for calmer waters can head south to the city of Christchurch, where you’ll find Pegasus Bay. It’s home to a line of sandy beaches and runs all the way down to Waipara River. Thanks to Christchurch’s location nearby, you’ll have access to plenty of cool cafes and restaurants when you’re done having fun in the sun. If you’re a hardcore surfer, Mangamaunu is certainly the place to visit for good waves; and if you’re not, that’s fine. There are plenty of cool locations like Christchurch near the region.
