While staying in Nelson, guests should make sure to visit the nearby Lake Rotoiti, where canoeing and kayaking can be done. The whole lake enjoys magnificent views of the surrounding mountains with absolutely uninterrupted calmness in the waters. The breathtaking Rabbit Island sits just 15 miles north-west of the property and involves a 30-minute drive and a quick ferry or boat across. The island is the perfect spot for a day trip, where guests can enjoy a picnic, a sunbathe, and they can take some incredible photos of the area.

Guests should take the 10-minute drive to the small town of Richmond, where they can visit Gardens of the World to enjoy the landscaped gardens, before heading to Tahunanui Beach to go kitesurfing, sunbathing, or swimming. Mount Richmond Forest Park is a great spot to spend a whole day with the family, enjoying hiking and tramping trails up to the high points of the park, where there are some absolutely exquisite views of the areas below. Both the Abel Tasman National Park and the Nelson Lakes National Park also offer gorgeous scenery and hiking trails, along with local birds and wildlife.
