Ideal for couples, the tent has a queen-size bed that is dressed in beautiful linens to help glampers sleep well. However, two camp stretchers can also be provided if guests are traveling with children and need the extra space. For bathroom facilities, guests can head to the nearby outdoor bathroom, where they will find a hot shower, a compost toilet, and towels.
The bell tent features stunning decor and was named after the native swamp hens that live on the wetland at the back of the property. During their holiday, glampers can enjoy a free continental breakfast each morning and they will have full access to the property's six acres.

While staying in the area, guests should be sure to enjoy the short walk down the road to the Stationside Cafe, which is a wonderful place to stop for a coffee and something to eat. For a night time meal, there is the Lauder Hotel, just a short stroll into the Lauder village. Guests should also be sure to take a bike up the Poolburn Gorge for a night ride and experience this special part of the Otago Rail Trail.
Just a short drive up the road is the beautiful Blue Lake and historic town of St Bathans. The Vulcan Hotel is great for a drink or something to eat before walking around the town and checking out some of the history from the gold mining days. The Thomson Gorge Road is a remote high country road across the Dunstan Mountains between Matakanui and Bendigo and offers some great historic sites along the way. Just 35 minutes up the highway is the beautiful town of Naseby, which is great for forest mountain biking or guests can visit the indoor curling rink.
