Runanga is around 20 minutes away from Barrytown and Greymouth and is about half an hour away from Punakaiki, a coastal city known for its gorgeous scenic drives. Here guests can go fishing or kayaking through dramatic white cliffs and lush tropical forest. Guests can also take day trips to Punakaiki, where they can dine at cafes, visit a number of arts and crafts shops, and stroll along the pristine beaches, where they can relax, go swimming, and see several ancient rock formations such as the Pancake Rocks.

Guests can also go hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing through several nature trails that cut through the rainforest and along the mountains near the bed and breakfast, such as those at Paparoa National Park. These trails are also suitable for picnics, backpacking treks, and walks that can last the whole day.
