Takamatua

Situated near Akaroa Harbour’s scenic region, Takamatua is also a great spot to visit if you’re into the outdoors. Takamatua Bay offers calm waters perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking activities, and if you’re up for a libation, you can visit Takamatua Valley Vineyards, which is located right next to the bay. The vineyard offers wine tasting activities and panoramic views of the bay and countryside. 12 minutes south, you’ll find Akaroa Harbour, home to marine dolphin and a penguin colony. You’ll also be able to enjoy kayaking activities in these waters. There are other things to do near Takamatua, including eating at one of the seaside restaurants, so be sure give the region a look; you might find more than just watersports and sea critters.
